ABC’s Nightline has done a piece on sensory deprivation tanks. The story follows ABC reporter Neil Karlinsky through his first float experience at Float Seattle. The float tank is rigged with a night vision camera so that Neil’s experience can be documented. The report goes on to explain how whilst floating the brain waves enter a state similar to that experienced during meditation but by eliminating gravity “it goes deeper’. Dr Robert Schreyer who is featured on the piece explains how many studies that have been conducted on floatation have demonstrated beneficial results and he now prescribes to some of his patients.
