Through conducting research for the article, Heller turned up encouraging results in reducing blood pressure and cortisol levels, physiological improvements and reducing blood lactate levels after intense exercise. His research also showed positive signs in how floatation tanks and sensory deprivation help manage anxiety, and the uses in dealing with addiction.
